Dear mom, 

I am finally getting into the Christmas spirit. I haven't been feeling it as much this year because I don't get the chance to blare Christmas carols everyday, and we only have the church songbooks ones anyways.. Also we're not too decorated for Christmas besides the small tree we put up in November and what we made at the relief society activity. But this week has definitely helped me get more into it. 😊 I got to be part of some really awesome service opportunities this week and it was just awesome. 

The first one is that we were meeting a less active member who had been clearing out some of her Christmas decorations and she asked us if there was anyone we knew who could use them... And so we took them and hiked across Wombourne with them, and visited with another sister who has been taking care of her husband after his surgery. And while we were there we got to play Christmas elves a little and help her wrap presents for the primary kids. (And we very gratefully accepted a ride home with our new Christmas treasures) then we also helped put up the decorations for the ward Christmas party, and on Friday finally got to deliver them. We gave them to Diana's family because we just knew that she would love them, and she did! It was so awesome to do so much service this week I loved it. And the Christmas party was a success. We got to meet a lot of less active members who we'd never seen before, and even a few non members came to it. And Diana's son Luca was the cutest! She had dressed him up as a little donkey and he just ran around in circles because that's what he saw the big kids doing (they were playing tag) it was adorable and nice to see Diana out of here flat and being with other people. 😊 

I have not gotten my package yet, but hopefully it will get here before Christmas. Natty a play looks like it was fun to watch. They do Christmas plays here too! And even if benson's team isn't doing the best, it's still fun to watch. I'm sorry you hit a deer. At least the car still works. Mostly..🙂 

It still hasn't snowed yet, it rains some still, sometimes it's cold, sometimes it's not. And transfers are this week.  That's about it. 

Oh, and the most interesting thing I ate this week was curry and pasta together. And I bought a gingerbread cookie and very much enjoyed every bite. 😊 that's about it this week. I'm finished training this transfer and sister Lee might be leaving me. 😕

Natty's play was on Tuesday.  It was the best 6th grade Christmas play I've seen.  Short, cute, and Natty was in it!  I will send a picture of it.

The 6th graders have been in DC so Natty has had a pretty easy week at school.  Four of the kids from LC got to participate in the wreath ceremony for the tomb of the unknown soldier.  

Chelsey has been having fun at school.  She is waiting for a letter from China so she can buy her plane ticket.  

Ally and Jacques are between things right now.  It's nice to have them come home after school.

Benson's team didn't do too well with games.  They lost to Lake Mead and Mountain View.  (It was pretty bad).

He didn't play much the first game, but the Saturday game, he played more.  He did really well when he did play. He fell and smacked his head and elbow really hard.  It sounded awful, but he got back up and kept playing.  

On Wednesday I hit a deer.  It took out the headlight and front fender, but the car is still drivable.  It's been a few years since I've hit one, so I guess it was my turn.  

It has been "flat tire season" here.  We finally borrowed Grandpa Frehner's tire patch kit, and learned to fix them ourselves.  We are going to have to buy him a new kit cuz we've used it so much.  But it sure has save us some money.  It is snowing again tonight.  I love it, but I think most people want to kick me for wanting it to snow.  Sister Hammond (Alyson) got mad at me in primary today for singing a snowy song.  

Toys for Tots was yesterday.  I love helping with it.  This might be the last year, though.  We'll see.  

Things are winding down for the night.  Dad left for work, he took Chelsey to Panaca, then headed North.  Natty has gone to bed, and so has Ally.  I need to start chasing the boys to bed now.

It sounds like you had a really fun week. And that's really exciting to have a Christmas tree! I forgot that we have to always tie it to the ceiling so it will stay up. 😊🌲

This week was really good and we didn't have to waste a whole day doing nothing but going places so it feels like we were able to get a lot more done. 

We've started having a sort of family home evening with Diana on Monday night, but it's usually just singing a couple of primary songs because Luca is only about 2 and Oscar is four months. Her husband who is a member, requested to have a change of shift where he works so he can come to church on Sunday (and he did!) but now that he has Sunday off, another problem happened and he needs a weekday off to go to the office and sort it out, but he just changed shifts! Diana was so frustrated with it. I think anyone would be. But she is such an amazing person, sister Lee and I just love her and are always excited to go talk with her. 😊 

Tuesday we had a pretty great lesson with a new investigator. The bishop taught with us at the church so it was really good. Our bishop is really awesome at working with us and sister Lee has to keep telling me that it's not usually like this and just how awesome bishop conlan is. Our relief society president is amazing too. I love sister batt. She's really good at working with us too. She is definitely an incredible person. 

Wednesday we went to harbourne for a district meeting with the president... Our poor district leader didn't get the message that president Leppard wanted to do some training until AFTER... So we all felt so bad for him. And we met with Bobby afterwards. He has a huge problem too, but completely the opposite of Diana's. But he's so focused on that, that it's hard to help him, because we're not supposed to give that sort of advice, and even if we could, I wouldn't know what to do anyways. *Some people's problems.*

Thursday we met with a recent convert from the elders ( now our) area and her friend. McDonald's is not a good place to have a lesson, but they're both teenagers so it's where we usually do no up. So we have gotten a couple of new investigators!😊 

Friday we got to teach another really amazing person. We've been kind of doorstep friends for a while, and we finally got to go inside and teach her a lesson. She's been through some pretty hard things recently and hopefully we can teach her again. 

Saturday was another good day. We met with a less active and she's one of the people we just love. And we were able to meet with Diana again Saturday too. 

Sunday we didn't forget to fast this week, and we were going to go to the stake Christmas carol concert, but we could because we didn't have an investigator to come with us. 😩 

That was this week. Christmas in England is not what you'd expect, I guess because it's still pretty warm for December. And I'm a missionary so I'm already so focused on Christ that it doesn't feel too different from what I'm already thinking about every day. But now we do get to use the Christmas video, and the ward party is this Saturday, and they've really encouraged the members to try and invite a friend to it. Hopefully it will be a success. 😊

Benson was gone all weekend for a basketball tournament in Vegas.  The won one and lost three.  It will be a rough year for them because they are a whole new team.  Only one player came back from the varsity team last year.  They play at home this weekend.  It will be fun to watch.  

Jacques isn't playing sports, but he still doesn't come home much.  He either stays down to lift weights, or goes to Camden's house.  I told him he does have to come home a couple of days to help me.

Natty's play is this week.  Can you believe she is a 6th grader?  This will be our last year of elementary school plays!  Of course that means we move into band concerts, so it is a trade off.

Natty was practicing her trumpet today, and I recognized the song.  She is starting to sound better.

Thursday was the ward Christmas party.  It was fun.  The primary kids sang a couple of songs, and then everybody sang a few carols.  The food was really good.  And no dishes.  That is probably the best part.

Friday night, Jacques had a thing (?) in Alamo, so it was just us girls here at home.  Then Saturday we girls went and got our tree.  We really missed the boys when it was time to chop it down and load it in the car, but we did it.  It was actually easier to get into the smaller van because the seats fold down.  We got it set up and decorated and it kept threatening to fall, so about 11:00 at night, Ally and I tied it to the wall to a screw.  So it is attached to the hook in the ceiling and to the wall .  I hope it stays up.

Fast Sunday was really good at church today, a lot of good testimonies.  Primary was crazy because I forgot all my posters with the words to the Christmas songs.  Grandma and I were frantically writing behind the piano to get a new set ready for singing.  And in the end, I don't think the kids cared.  They just had fun putting the ornaments on the little tree I brought.  

Well, that about sums it up this week.   Tell us how and what you are doing.  Are you staying warm?  Just tell us all the little things that happen, cuz it's the little things (along with the big ones) that are fun to hear about.

Dear mom, 

Thanksgiving sounds like it was a lot of fun. I got to have a small version with my district. We each brought a few things and had a lot of fun celebrating. Then right after sister Lee and I had stuffed ourselves on potatoes and cheesecake ( The English can't live without cheesecake) we had a da and we almost cried when we had to eat another huge helping of potatoes again! Then we went to a Rs activity and had to refuse the treats there. So this whole week we have basically just been stuffed..  But I'm still the same size, I think. My clothes still fit, and I think sister Lee would love a pair of pj's and if you just send it to the mission home, she'll get them even if we aren't together anymore.
I'm sorry about the car, but basketball season of always fun. Did "Cameron" show up at thanksgiving? Is he still in good condition? I don't get to hear about his adventures at home anymore. And could you send me some pictures of the Christmas decorations? It would be nice to see even if it always the same every year. We made some cool decorations at the activity on Thursday night, and so we're feeling more festive. And we get to share the new Christmas video! 

This week was also a lot better than last week. We have a couple of new investigators and hopefully that will go somewhere. Sister Lee laughed at me because my definition of miracles has gone down to being able to catch a bus that's running on time for us, or if we come right as a bus is pulling in. 

This week we had some Italian cooking. It was just chicken and vegetables,Mobutu it was so good. We thank our lucky stars every day for Diana and her family. They love missionaries so much, and Diana has come so far since I first met her. 😊 our da's are usually meat and potatoes and that's about what the members feed us. I might be sick of potatoes by the time I get home... We have been having a few more da's than usual too because the members are feeling sorry for us not having any elders anymore, and so we don't have to keep to our old area, because we cover the whole ward now. 

My debit card does let me take money out: I just can't see how much I have spent. So if you could just email me and let me know how much I still have left that would be fantastic. 

So this week was pretty good. I am getting used to being rained on every day now. My shoes are not good for rain, and so I really need to buy some good boots ( not rain boots, some tall brown ones that would match everything) but I can't quite bring myself to pay for them just yet... And my skirts have been doing okay.  They still fit me. 

That's about all that happened this week. I'll send you pictures of our thanksgiving and Christmas stuff.

I only had the extras 2 days, too. Keldyn kept telling me that "it is Thanksgiving this week, and then it will be Christmas."  I think he will be disappointed that Christmas is still a month away.  Not the very next day.

Wednesday your dad took everyone but me down to the farm to load up a tree that he had cut down.  It was a cold, cold day, and I don't think anyone had fun, but they got it done.  I got to go to Grandma's house and help her quilt.  Nice and warm, tv going, fire, etc.  but my back and quilting finger sure hurt when we were done.  The quilt is done though, and waiting to be delivered.  Next project is pajamas.  

About pajamas.  I am planning to do yours, so I need to know if you are the same size, or have you grown or shrunk?  Do you want me to make a pair for your companion?  You said transfers are right before Christmas, so I'm not sure.  Let me know what you think.  

Thanksgiving Day was fun.  We ate at Grandma Frehner's house.  Albert and Jessica were there, and Henry and Shawn, and Jonathan and Mellica.  Dinner was ready at 11:15 and so we ate.  We told your dad that dinner was at noon, and he was actually there a little before noon, but dinner was mostly done by then.  We played a game and sat around a visited, then went to Panaca for pie at Grandpa Wadsworth's.  Amy and her family were there, Glen, and Matt and Jule.  It was fun seeing every body.  Poor Uncle Todd was playing games with all the kids.  He has the patience of 3 saints!!

Friday Benson had basketball at 7 am. Yuck!  I took him down and waited for him.  I fell asleep in the car with the heater running, and ran the battery down.  We got it jump started, but then have had trouble starting it all weekend since then.  We didn't go anywhere else that day.  Just got your dad ready for work and took a nap.  

Saturday, Kade and Tia went through the temple.  Chelsey and I rode over with Grandma and Grandpa.  It was so neat to be in the sealing with them.  Reiko slept through the whole thing.  

That pretty much took up the whole day.  Then today was Tim and Terry Olson's farewell.  The enter the MTC tomorrow.  I was expecting a lot of visitors in primary, but they all left right after Sacrament Meeting, and primary was pretty small.  We sang "The Nativity Song" about 20 times to get ready for the ward party on Thursday.  I took 5 Nativity sets with me and the kids would have sung the song 20,000 times if they could put up a set each time.  Fun!

Chelsey and Ally are at Grandpa Wadsworth's this week.  It is weird to be the last one up.  Usually Chelsey is up long after me.  Ally has her play this week.  The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.  Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday.  (Just a heads up for all the family that reads this.)  

All the Christmas decorations are up.  Chelsey, Ally, and Natty put everything up on Friday.  

That's pretty much all for us, so now tell us what you are doing.  What is the weirdest thing you had/got to eat this week?  I know I've asked you before, but I don't remember, do the members feed you or do you fend for yourselves?  

Are your shoes and clothes holding up?  Teri gave us some more skirts,  I will see if I can fit some in your Christmas package.  

Ally said something about your debit card not working.  Do you need me to call the bank?  Let me know about that too.

We love you, and are so happy that you get to be on a mission for Christmas.  What a neat time to be able to serve the Lord.

Because dad was home for it. I think. 

But back to my crazy week. Monday was pretty normal, we are trying to come up with things to do and go see here but we are struggling to find anything. We went to a museum last week and it was really cool, I think we were the only ones there when we went, though. Lots of old rocks, and. A couple of fossils, some old WWI guns, some paintings and that was about it. But it was still cool. And we had exchanges that night and Tuesday. I had to stay in our area and try and remember where everything is and how to get there. But sister wiesner was really awesome and she was really helpful when nothing worked out that day, and I felt so bad about it. 

Wednesday it was so nice to have sister Lee back though and I was very happy to be following her again. 😊 we went to Wolverhampton and on the way home it poured on us, and we got sososososo soaked. We also met with Bobby and had a really awesome lesson with a member. It really helped home to have a couple of member present lessons with him because he feels more like he's making friends. 

Thursday we had a zone meeting and that took up most of our day. 

Friday was the craziest day. I almost got hit by a car ( but I didn't so don't worry about it) our bus broke down, and then we took the wrong one after that. It was so bad. But we were able to meet Diana that day and she really cheered sister Lee up because it had been such a rough day- I think I was mostly just happy to still be alive, so it wasn't quite as bad for me. Diana is so amazing, we're really working with her to give up smoking because that's all she needs to do before she can be baptised. 

Saturday we got to do some service for a less active member who is really great and we met with Bobby again and he is struggling with some questions and we're not sure quite how to help him with it, but we had some really great lessons with him this week. 

Sunday we had the primary program! My favourite part besides the songs was when they mentioned missionaries and things you could do to help them. Sister Lee and I were just sitting there and nodding going yes, yes, please do ALL of those things! 

And today nothing exciting planned because we don't know what there is to do. 

 But even though it's been a rough week, I'm still alive and even though it got rather cold and wet suddenly, I'm so glad I chose to serve a mission and be able to meet all of these amazing people. And I am so grateful everyday for the amazing people I left behind who taught me the beautiful truths that I'm here teaching others. 😊

We are still plodding along here at home.  Sometimes we might break into a little jog, but we don't go very fast.

The boys went to Reno to play the state football game.  It was a really good game. But, alas, we did not win.  I was able to watch the game on  my phone.  It was small, but since Dad and I were the only ones watching, it wasn't too bad.  The boys played really hard, but Yerington was just a little better.  The announcer kept saying that no one thought Lincoln County would win except for the boys on the field.  Now we get to move into basketball!!  Benson is so ready to start. 

We went to the temple with Chelsey on Friday.  That was a neat experience.  Teri, Dylan, Albert, Matt and Jule , and Grandma were there.  Grandpa had worked his shift at the temple that day, and was just too worn out to do the session with us.  We left a little earlier that we did when you went, so we weren't so rushed.  It was a lot more relaxed.  Ally and Natty went with us and hung out in the visitor center.

I started watching Reiko this week.  It is so fun to have a tiny baby again.  But I was right about changing tons of diapers.  Between Reiko and Ryder, we do a lot of poop here.

Next week will be a short week.  Only 2 days of school.  But Benson says he is sure they will have bball practice on Wednesday, so we will still get to do some running around.  Grandpa Wadsworth will be home from Thanksgiving to New Years.  Chelsey will be staying with him when Ann or Glen or Amy isn't there.  

Natty has had the Christmas train out already.  But I am holding out to really decorate until after Thanksgiving.  You will know what it looks like, it's the same every year.  But I will send you a picture of the tree as soon as we get it.

There was some rearranging in the ward last week.  A new Young Mens presidency was put in.  Dann Mathews is the new pres.  The Olsons are leaving on the 30th, so they called a new teacher for her class too.  And new nursery leaders.  Beka, and Mara are in the nursery now.  Donnene is doing a lot better, she is in rehab now.  

That's about it.  I think we will only have one Thanksgiving this year.  When was the last time that happened?  

Ally, Natty and I spent 4 hours yesterday splitting wood nonstop, and we still didn't get it all done.  I don't think we will be running out this year!  Yeah!!

Cami just called.  She is doing good.  She just wrote a  9 page research paper on "Nerds."(I will forward it to you)  We are trying to work out rides home for Christmas.  

Natty is waiting for the computer so she can write to you, so I guess I will go.

Dear mom and family, 

This week was pretty good considering that I got to shake hands with an apostle of Jesus Christ. 😄😄 I met elder Ballard!! (Twice) He's really cool and I learned so much and he answered so many of my questions that I had been thinking about. He's also really funny and my favourite thing he said was the apostles are just missionaries without boundaries. That's so true. And the scary thing he said was that us missionaries need to be the best teachers ever in the history of missionary work because we don't have a lot of time left to share the gospel, this is the last dispensation, so we've got to bring people to Christ now. That's something I think I'll be working towards my whole mission. Then Sunday our stake had a special conference with him so I got to hear from him twice. 😊 

This Wednesday was the end of my first transfer, and I'm still here. I haven't been moved anywhere yet but the elders in our ward are gone now and so sister Lee and I now have a huge area and we're feeling kind of alone and small for the next four and a half weeks until the next transfer ends. But now we won't feel bad when we meet with people in that area who we were working with like Diana because now we just have woodsetten ward as our area instead of half of it. We also finally got the elders area book only to have the same frustrations that you did with the boys. That they really didn't keep a good area book and all the information is not recent at all. Aargh!! Boys. 

But on the bright side, we met a family and we taught them the restoration and they said come back so hopefully it will work out. They're really cute and super adorable at least the ones that we've met so far. 😊 

 Tell Keyden that for lunch I sit by sister Lee. There's nothing exciting happening for thanksgiving, people skip right to Christmas. We put up a small tree in our flat already because this transfer ends right before Christmas. So we get to celebrate sooner! But it is weird that everyone is thinking about Christmas now instead of thanksgiving.  

I'm really excited for Chelsey to go through the temple. It's such a great place. 😊 I'm so sad I can't be there but I'll be thinking of you guys Friday. 

More exciting news is that we're having a baptism on the 28 for an excommunicated member. So it doesn't count for our numbers, but it's still a baptism! Sister jukes is really awesome and she's basically already a member because she's been coming to church for years and years. 

I'm also excited to hear how the boys do at state! That's so exciting that the football team is actually good this year. 😊⚽️ 

That was my week, we worked hard but nothing too exciting happened except for being able to meet an apostle, which was way cool. 😊❤️ 

I love you so so so so much and I miss you, but I'm also grateful to be here and for all the things I've learned and am going to learn. The gospel is true, without it, I would be so lost and so that's one of the things I'm really grateful for is having that sense of peace and direction in life to know where I come from each and what I'm doing, and where I'm going. Thank you so much for teaching it to me.

How do these weeks go by so fast?  On Monday, I think it is going to be a loooong week, but then all of a sudden, it is Sunday again, and we start all over again.  

Well, anyway, the craziness continues.  Biggest news:  the football team is going to State!! The play in Reno next Saturday.The played a really good game last Saturday against Pershing County, which is where Megan's kids go to school, but Brandon doesn't play football, so no cousin rivalry this time.  

We won't be able to go watch them.  Your dad is really disappointed, but we just can't swing a trip right now.  And Chelsey doesn't want to keep rescheduling her day at the temple.  So we will just listen on the radio.  For all you family out there, you can listen on network1sports.com.

Chelsey is going through the temple on Friday.  7:20 pm session.  (there's a lot of family that reads this, so I might as well spread the word)  She is excited about going.  

I guess not a lot happened last week, but it sure felt crazy all week.  It must have been having Veteran's Day off in the middle of the week.  

I get to start watching Kade and Tia's baby tomorrow.  It will be fun to have a baby again.  

Uncle Matt came and got some of the wheat out of the garage.   You can't believe what a difference that made.  We might actually be able to get the car in there again some day!

I'm really digging to think of anything else that happened.  Even Jacques says nothing did.  I should have all sorts of interesting things next week.  I can keep track of how many diapers I change, how many trips we make a day, and all sorts of things to report for you.

One funny (kind of) thing that happened:  The boys borrowed Jurassic World from the Lamb's Friday.  they came home and started negotiating what it would take to let them watch it right away.  We finally settled on they would do the dishes, not argue for a week, and Jacques caught a couple of gophers.  No dishes happened Saturday.  Sunday, I turned off the internet finally, until they got done.  Next time, I will get payment first before I give in.  Boys.

So tell us how things are over there.  As Keldyn always asked: How was your day? Who did you sit by at lunch? When are transfers? Any exciting plans for Thanksgiving?  Do they let you celebrate, or is it just another day?  

This letter is starting to get painful, so I will stop.

Sister Lee thinks it's incredible that we use a word burning stove to heat our house. 🙂 also not a lot of people believe me when I say it snows in Nevada. I think they imagine it to look something like the Sahara desert. 

This week was really good though even if we did get wet. 🌧🌧🌧🌧🌧☔️ I haven't been sick yet, so I guess your prayers are doing something. we had a couple of miracles happen and a few new investigators. We also had a ward party where everyone made food, and I made biscuits and gravy. It was a hit and I have now solved the unanswerable question of what a biscuit is called in England: it's a scone. But I know that scones are something much tastier. 😊 so make sure you tell ally that a biscuit means a scone. 

We've also been a lot more stressed out this week because elder ruka went home, and elder page, his companion is only here until the end of the transfer, and they're shutting down the elders area. So sister Lee and I are either going to be working in a really huge area all by ourselves or we're  getting transferred halfway through training. We get to  find out tonight what going to happen to us. It's going to be really interesting either way. And also it the last week of my first transfer! That went by really fast. I learned so much from sister Lee and I feel at least halfway trained. Which is where I'm at in in training  anyways. But next transfer is going to be shorter and end right before Christmas. And also elder Ballard is coming this week! I get to meet him twice (hopefully, because transfers) because he's coming to the stake I'm serving in and there's going to be a mission conference the day before. 😄😄😄
One of the miracles that keeps happening is that members keep inviting us over for dinner, so our number of da's has doubled this week. It's usually only two or three, but this week we almost had something every night. I haven't found anyone who knows exactly where pioche, or Panaca  is but a lot of the missionaries seem to know where misquite is. And a really funny story is about a da we have every Tuesday with the bishops family, but that's like Wednesday nights for us , so they're really busy and they only have about an hour for us to eat and share a quick thought and it's always super awkward because the bishops wife doesn't look at you AT aLL and she is Pretty intimidating . But our bus from Wolverhampton was kind of late and we had to walk a long ways down in the rain so we were half an hour late for dinner. But the had already eaten, and so it was just sister Lee and I eating. We had a da with ourselves... That was an experience. 

P day is always different every week. Sometimes we go shopping, we usually always go grocery shopping in the morning, and catch the end of the relief society activity to eat their leftover biscuits🍪☕️ and maybe have a cup of cocoa. Sometimes we just hang out at the chapel all day  and play some football maybe basketball, and email everyone with the elders also serving in our ward, but they're leaving so I don't know what we'll do now.  

I'll try to keep working hard, and not to think too much about home or the rain... I love you so much and I'm thankful for everything that you've taught me to do. This week I have realised that the biggest place that I learned the gospel has been at home , so I guess I learned something from the and I didn't sleep too much through morning scripture study. So keep it up! We do learn something, even if it doesn't seem like it. 😊 I'm so grateful for what I know and I'm excited to be teaching it not only know but way in the future to my own family. So thanks mom, I love you and please don't only pray for me but for all the other missionaries out there too.

We have had quite the week, Monday was mostly a normal day. Jacques got home from Louisville about midnight. He rode home with Derek so I didn't have to go down and get him. I sure love Jesse and Derek.

Tuesday Chelsey worked out in Eagle Valley filling in for Jennifer-taryn and Ashton's mom. She had to drive the big van out. It was a slooow trip for her. The van only gets up to 30 mph anymore.

Tuesday night it SNOWED! We got 4-6 inches! Wow it was a lot!  Driving to school was an adventure. This little van isn't quite as tough as the old van was.  We made it though. Natty had a half day, so she and Keldyn got some sledding in. We finally got to use the sled we bought last year!

Thursday, Ashton and Keldyn sledded for an hour after preschool. Natty had another half day, but the sledding hill was melted by the time she got home.  They all played outside in the snow that was left.  We went through a lot of gloves cuzntheu would come in and change when they got wet. I rigged a glove clothesline over the fireplace to speed up drying them.

Dad came home for the boys playoff game on Friday. It was cold. We won. I sat in the car. Enough said about that.

We started splitting the wood Friday morning. We worked for about 3 hours and barely made a dent in that huge pile. Did you see it? I can't remember when they brought it. It's about 8 cords of wood. We did 5 or 6 hours on Sat. but the pile is still big. I think we have done about 2/3 of it.

We have all been sick now. I have had this stinking cold all week. I'm down to just the cough now, but it is so annoying.  Chelsey had had it too, but her cough is still really bad.  Natty and Ally are both in the early stages of the same thing. Dad and Jacques are about over it.  Hmmm I wonder if Benson will get it. No fun.

So, how have you been? It sounds like you and Sister Lee are working hard. 

Do the members feed you like they do over here? Or do you get your own meals? Have you run across anyone you know or that knows where Pioche is?

What do you do on your P day?

Thanks so much for the email and also for the great example that you have given me throughout my life. I'm so grateful for all that you have taught me and shown me and all the sacrifices that you've made for your family. ❤️ that's also really exciting about state finals in Panaca. I'm so jealous of the snow because I love snow and all I've had is rain and soggy leaves. All week. 

Sister Lee is from South Korea. She's from sol, the capital, and I have a lot of fun telling her how much better the countryside is. 😊

We should have my red Chevy with 4x4 wheel drive fixed in another week. I would feel much better about driving it than Grandpa's little pickup.But we need the snow.

Dear mom and dad,
Ahhhh!!!! I love you sososososo much! I'm so glad that you are my parents and that I have such an amazing family. This week has been really good. I've started praying to recognise the miracles that happen everyday and it works! Miracles are a thing, and they happen EVERY day.
I thing I'm getting better as a missionary too. Stopping people on the street is getting
Less awkward once I just realised its a lot like calling people, you just have to do it. Gird up your loins and get it over with or it's never going to happen sort of thing. Also I've made a goal to smile and bear my testimony every day, which is a lot harder than it seems because I'm sure sometimes when I'm walking down the street I'm like oh yeah I need to smile missionaries are always happy, so I try to smile but I thing it might be me just walking down the road with my mouth open but it's changed my attitude. I really focus on the people I see and how much Heavenly Father loves them when I make a goal as simple as having a smile on my face. 😄😊
Monday was carving pumpkins as a district, which was interesting because we really didn't have anything to scoop out the guts and not very good knives. And we had to throw out our pumpkins the day before Halloween because hey got soooo mouldy.
Tuesday sis Lee and I went to visit Diana again and Norma who is a really cute old lady. She is so busy and we are just trying to get her to read the Book of Mormon again, and come back to church. We also have been going to a lot of former investigators houses and seeing if they'll meet with us again and we had one say yes! We're hoping that the sister in our ward will help us with her when we meet with her again, because they're friends and sister conroy is really funny and great.
Wednesday we had a meeting and I got to see all of the other new sisters again and that was so great because we're all really good friends and we got to complain and tell stories about our areas and how missionary work is so hard but so great at the same time.
On Thursday we had a district meeting but everyone was sick except for me and one set of elders. It was so bad. Bit sis Lee is feeling better now and so is everyone else. I haven't gotten sick yet, and I'm hoping it'll stay that way. 😊 we also met this really cool guy at our finding spot where it's really busy, and hopefully he'll become a new investigator because he's going through a pretty rough time right now.
Friday was good too. We met our neighbour and she invited us over because she really liked the other missionaries who had come and thought they were nice, and we talked to her for a long time, bit it was really cool because sis Lee has just offered to help her take out her garbage and then this happened! So we're excited to go visit her this week.
Friday was really good too because we had the opportunity to help a less active cl an her house and she was so grateful and she promised to have us over for dinner! Yes food! But Evelyn is so cool. Her kids are really sweet too.
Saturday was great. None of the lessons we planned to teach happened, but we met his really incredible guy and taught him a lesson on the street and it was so cool. (I told you I was Improving as a missionary 😊) he was really interesting and told us all about the places he's been and we told him a little about the gospel.
Sunday was another good day. This whole week has just been awesome. But we went to Tipton after church to stop by some people, and we met one of their neighbours, and he was way cool. He was Muslim, but from Guana,  and we taught him about Jesus Christ and prayer and gave him a Book of Mormon, which he said he'd read, so hopefully he does. But it was another service opportunity, when we stopped to talk to him. We also biked on Sunday, and if you would have seen me trying, you would have died laughing because  it's really hard and i am so out of shape and can't make it up most of the hills and sis Lee is always patient with me which is nice because biking is hard! And I'm too short by about an inch to stop my bike and stand, and it's a guys bike so getting on and off is interesting, but I really like it so far, just not any hills.... And I'm glad we're not biking every day. I would probably die.
There has been so many miracles everyday. im so grateful I'm here to see them. This week I have really focuses on strengthening my faith in Christ and that has helped me so much because without him, I could not be doing this every day.
I'm so glad to hear from you and you all mean so much to me. Thanks for teaching me this incredible gospel and living it everyday. That's one of the best things you could ever do, because if you're not moving forward on faith then your going backwards and you are losing so much happiness in your life.

Ps everyone here either passionately hates Halloween or loves it. Most people really are just annoyed with it though, and they don't like it at all. I think of you every time someone starts  complaining about Halloween because you hate it too. 😊

It has been another crazy week.  More sickness, ballgames, trips, and just general craziness.  
I hardly know where to start, but I guess Monday is a good place:  Jacques thought the FFA trip was flying out Monday night, so he got all packed and had everything ready to take to school with him.  Turns out they were leaving on Tuesday.  It was funny.  I was really worried about him not having any ID with him.  All he had was his Permanent Resident card with his picture when he was 3 years old.  But miracle of miracles!! His new card finally came Monday, so he had current ID.
It has been weird here at home without him, though.  Way too quiet.  He won't be home until tomorrow night.  His Ag Mech team placed bronze he said.  Something like 15th place.
Tuesday was just normal.  If there is such a thing.
Wednesday was Halloween carnival.  Pioche had theirs from 3-5.  I took kids in to town to meet up with parents, but Ashton and Taryn's mom couldn't get off work, so Natty and I ended up staying til about 4:30.  She paid me extra though, so it worked out fine.
Then we went to Natty's carnival in Panaca.  Chelsey did facepainting with Mrs. Schimbeck.  Natty had her friends to hang out with, so I ended up waiting in the car.  I was carnival'ed out.
Thursday, NO SCHOOL!! and we finally got to sleep in!  Oh it felt good.  The football team won their game against Agassi, even without a few players who were on the FFA trip.  It was a good game, but it was cold!  We sat in the car and watched.
Ally went to her last meet in Boulder City.  No one place except Maddy, and she doesn't go to LCHS anymore, so cross country is done.
Friday, your dad left for Ely to work.  Then we all just kind of vegged out and recovered from the week.
Saturday, not much happened either.  Chelsey and Ally took Natty trick-or-treating, so I got to stay home.  I am becoming a Halloween Scrooge.  Bah humbug.  We have all enjoyed her candy though.  Good thing she likes to share.
The sickness is still going around.  Your dad had the cold this week, and now I am getting it.  Ally had the throwing up bug.  I think it has hit us all at least once.
So, don't they have microwave popcorn in England?  I guess if they don't, we will figure out how to get some to you.  that is a bad thing to be without.
I'm glad you found your tights and pictures.  I really did look for them here, but you were such a thorough packer, I was pretty sure you did have them.
Will you get to celebrate Thanksgiving over there?  I guess with missionaries from all over the world, it might be a little weird. You will certainly miss your mashed potatoes.  Those I will not send.  Too messy in the mail.
Dad will be moving his new(er) trailer up to Ely next month.  He will finally have a bathroom and running water.  And more room to share with Matt.
Chelsey will be going through the temple on the 20th (unless something happens).  (Take note all you family members who read this)
I guess that's about it.  I will send a couple of pics, Kelsie if I can find her.
I am now that missionary mom who checks email first thing Monday morning.  Scriptures and prayer have to wait until I read your letter.

I still have an hour so I can reply.. Homecoming sounds like it went like always. That's always such an interesting week. I'm glad the boys won their game. 🏈💥🎆😄 I'm also glad for Chelsey. Is working for elementary school  fun? I hope natty feels better soon too. This week was really good. We visited a couple of awesome people. Bobby decided not to get baptised on his date and a couple of concerns came up about the interview questions we weren't expecting. So we're still meeting with him, but he's not ready to be baptised yet.
We also met with Diana this week and that was really cool, she has almost nothing and she is taking care of two kids both under 2 and she doesn't speak a whole lot of English. She's Italian and her husband is a member and he's trying to find a job al day so she's home alone. We didn't really teach her anything but she was really happy about our visit any ways. Maybe it's because we showed up with cookies again. And we also met Omar this week and that was unexpected. But we taught him the first half of the restoration and we're still not sure if he's super interested but he told us how he had overcome his gambling addiction and that was really cool.
We also met bash and we had a less active referral that was super cool. Her name is becky and she just had a baby girl about three weeks ago. So we're going back there next week to actually teach something. But we haven't had a lot of new potential investigators lately but still busy. Sister Lee is still great and I swear she's trying to make me fat agains benson's wishes. She always asks me if I want some and then makes me twice as much! And after I've made myself something too. We also biked this week one day, and that almost killed me that night. It was terrible, but I have a different bike now but it's a guys bike so we'll see how that works.
Halloween is not such a big thing here but it still happens. I still think that the kids go trick or treating because we still have to turn in early. We carved pumpkins for p day today and that was fun. I'll send you some pictures of that.
Its okay as long as you still email me. And I can read it all through the week, I just can't reply until Monday, and if you could send me some popcorn, just the microwave kind, I would really appreciate it because it's my addiction. 😊 I love that stuff. And I found my tights! They were in my rainboots I didn't even think to look there for them until I tried to stick my foot in one boot. And I found my missing picture of dad and me. 😄 that made me really happy. But that was my week. I pray for you lot too.

Natty was really sad to miss the game, but she had been throwing up again (round 3) so I made her stay home.  Saturday was date day.  Benson took Kia Phillips.  The group he went with didn't know what they were doing until that morning.  He was so stressed.  But he says he had fun, and Kia did too.  Jacques went with Savannah Harr.  We ran him down to Panaca, then came home.  His group drove past us at the mailbox on their way to do their thing.  Ally took the ACT again on Saturday. So we did have to go down to get her when we dropped Jacques off, but it was still funny that we took him down and he came right back out.  He was with Jesse and Derek and their group.  Ally went with Joy. Chelsey took her down, then waited and brought her back, so I didn't have to.  It's nice having the extra driver.
Did I tell you that Chelsey was volunteering at Panaca Elem?  She goes to 1st grade now.  She has been weeding for Bart this week too.
Jacques is going to FFA Nationals this week.  He thought they were flying out tonight, so he got all packed last night.  But they are going tomorrow.
Donnene Mathews is in the hospital. she collapsed up in Reno, and will be having open heart surgery this week.
I can't think of any other news.  We just keep plugging along.
Is Halloween a big thing over there?  The pictures look like it's beautiful where you are.  There are trees!
Thanks for being patient with me.  I guess you don't have much choice.  We do think about you all the time, and pray for you a LOT.

Hi mom! It's nice to hear from you! Thanks for the recipes. Can you send me one for biscuits and gravy? I got the funniest look from bishop when I told him I wanted to make that for a ward activity. :) it was the most American thing I could think of. 

 I don't think that I will ever feel like I know what I'm doing, but I'm really good with just rolling with it. I think that's a good skill to have in life. I got to teach sharing time too! But we had stake conference last week so it was about prophets. I had to do something in all three meetings. Primary was my favourite though. It's funny that I've been out over a month now and this is the first time I was in a ward setting. Because of general conference and stake conference. It was nice even though I had to bear my testimony in sacrament meeting, help teach gospel principles class, and teach sharing time. 

That's crazy that so many people have been sick this week! A lot of people have been sick here too but I've been okay so far. 

Tell the boys good luck in the rest of their football games maybe our football team will actually be good again! 

This week has been really long but at the same time it's already Monday again. I had my first exchange on Tuesday and that was really fun. I went to harbour new district with sis Powell and we taught these two people who had both just randomly called the sisters and wanted to talk. They were both really cool and awesome people. :) and Wednesday I went to my first zone meeting, which was also fun. We taught Bobby again on Thursday, and on Friday we met this really awesome less active named Lucy, and she fed us lunch. Maybe that's why I liked her so much. Saturday was another day of missionary work just like the day before. And I told you about Sunday already. It was a really bad week for finding potentials, but it was still a good week because two of our investigators came to church! Yay!  That s my miracle for this week! Also that my watch broke and I thought I lost it and was really sad, but I found it in my coat the next morning! Prayer works! 

I have bought tights, and I already need to buy more and I'll probably spend all of my money on stuff like that. It would be nice to have some left when I get back, but whatever it's England. :) 

Sister lee is still great and she still loves me for some reason.. :) she's the best. 

I don't know what else to tell you except that I love you, and I wish my brothers would write to me... 

Keep it up! The gospel is true! It's something that you should be using everyday- not just on Sunday's. Faith is an action word.

The Pearsons weren't there to talk about there two missionaries.  Otto had his appendix out Thursday morning, and he is still in the hospital.  It sounds like he had a close call.  The boys were out working on fence yesterday, and they said he should be home on Monday.  

This week has been pretty crazy here.  Natty was sick on Monday.  She didn't feel well, so she stayed home.  Threw up right after we drove away.  Good thing she wasn't in the car!  The new little boy I tend is a busy little guy.  He is 2 I think.  Austin and Jaime Cole are his parents.  He goes alllllll day long without a nap.  But he is a happy little guy and lots of fun.  Keldyn and Ashton had a rough Monday, then Keldyn was sick Tues. and Wed.  It sure was quiet without him.

The band concert was actually pretty good.  The 6th graders sounded good.  Better than the last 6th graders I sat through.  We stayed thru the whole thing; boy, was Benson mad.  He had stuff to do!

Jacques has had a cold all week, too.  It's been a sick week for us.   I hope you miss it.  You should be safe clear across the ocean.

The boys played in Needles on Friday.  They WON!!!  43-35.  They have 2 home games left, then playoffs.  

Ally ran in Elko on Thursday.  The cross country team got to stay with Peyton, Shawn's brother.  Ally was sick when she got home.  Cold and/or sinus stuff.  She got to stay home from church today.  

Church today was interesting.  It's been raining and storming since last night.  About the time Sunday School should have been ending, the power went off.  So Bishop just told everyone to go home.  We cooked dinner on my new/old camp stove. And just as we sat down to eat, the power came back on.  Now we have a fire going.  It has rained like crazy today.  There should be lots of flooding in the county.

Benson asked his date to homecoming.  She hasn't officially said yes yet, but he isn't worried.

Your dad got to be home for a while today.  He was too tired to drive home last night, so he drove this morning.  He got to church just in time to go home.

Natty is waiting for you to answer her "real" letter.  I'm sorry we haven't got one off to you yet.  You have a terrible mother.

I've been thinking ahead to Christmas.  What is something we can get you that you need? I don't want to send something that you just have to lug around, or can't use.  Give us a few ideas. . .

Natty went to the orthodontist on Friday in Caliente.  she has orange and black teeth.  

I can't think of anything else that has happened.  Hopefully this next week will go better for us.  I forgot that Natty was sick again Friday night, and most of Saturday.  

So, tell us more about you.  How is your investigator doing?  Are there places you can go to just buy some tights? It seems like it would be cheaper than mailing them.  

A few of the recipes you asked for:

cookies

1 cube (1/2 cup) butter

1 cup white sugar

1 cup brown sugar

mix

add 3 eggs and vanilla

mix

add 2 1/2 to 3 cups flour

1 tsp baking soda

1 tsp salt

Stir

add in choc chips, or what ever you want.  You can add baking chocolate with the butter and sugar to make chocolate cookies, or add peanut butter with the butter to make pb cookies.

Bake 350 for 10-12 minutes.

Brownies

2 cubes butter melted

2 cups sugar

1/3 cup baking cocoa

1 tsp vanilla

mix

add in 4 eggs one at a time

stir in 1 1/2 to 2 cups flour.

Bake 350 for 30 minutes.

Pizza dough

1 cup hot water

yeast

1 tbs sugar

2 1/2 cups flour

a glob of oil

mix/knead

let rise for 10-20 minuets

bake pizza 425 for 20 minutes.
